About me

I am Ana Ardelean, trainer, play consultant & researcher, playworker, project manager, and fundraiser with over 16 years of experience leading play and playwork initiatives for children of all ages, backgrounds and abilities, in a range of settings and countries. Former lecturer in Childhood Development and Playwork at Leeds Beckett University. A BA(Hons) in Playwork and an MA in Children, Youth & International Development, with specialised expertise in creating quality play environments that support emotional development and inclusion.

Aside from working with individual clients, I am also an OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) Mentor, supporting primary schools across the North of England to improve their play provision.

A creative problem solver at heart, who aims to promote play and playwork among educators and other child practitioners, parents, humanitarian crisis workers and anyone and everyone with an interest in children and their wellbeing. Because there is room for play, everywhere, every day! If you work with children in any capacity, chances are you will benefit from play and playwork knowledge.

My professional development has taken place solely as part of the play sector, and every role I have ever had has had a connection to children and play. I founded Play Mission because the demand for play knowledge and expertise is ever-growing and I am well-placed to fulfil it, through my background and experience.

If you would like expert advice and training on play and childhood, you are in the right place.
